Daventry District Council is the local Planning Authority and they have full powers when considering planning applications.
Weedon Bec Parish Council is consulted on all applications falling within the parish boundary. These are considered at either the main parish meeting or at the planning committee meetings which are held on the third Thursday of the month (if applications have been received to consider). This committee inspects all sites and scrutinises the plans for every application. Its comments are then passed back to the District Council for their deliberations. They may take them on board or disregard as they see fit. Members of the public are entitled to attend our Parish and Planning Meetings and they are allowed to speak in the public forum part of the meeting.
There are also a large number of trees with TPOs (Tree Preservation Orders) and you should check with the District Council before you carry out any work on a tree within the village.
See the main Planning page for latest applications.
