We have heard from the MOD/DIO.
The content feels quite promising. A more detailed update will be provided within the next few days once further clarification has been made.

Mound Update 4th November
This is an update without too much progress I'm afraid, but we wanted to ensure that residents are up to date on the Mound issue.
The 24 hour security and fencing remain in place. We have, in our reserves, funds to pay for security until the end of the year. The WSA have kindly allowed the changing room facilities to be used by the security guards free of charge and... Read More »

What a week for Weedon Bec and the Mound story.
On Tuesday we received fantastic coverage on BBC Look East including the lead story on the main early evening programme with additional coverage on the lunch time and late evening bulletins.
During their visit to Weedon, BBC Look East shot a fascinating film of the Mound and surrounding area, which you see on the Parish Council Facebook page.
On Wednesday... Read More »

As advised last week, we are pleased to confirm that the insurer AON accepted the security measures that are currently in place (security guard and double fencing) and that we now have our public liability cover back in place. The rest of the news isn't so great we're afraid. An assessment of the options that could be taken up to fix the problem has given us three choices. It must be understood because... Read More »

DDC is consulting on the merits or otherwise of running a community lottery which could redistribute 50% of all ticket income to community groups. Therefore, we have prepared an on-line survey for community groups because we want to hear what they think about the proposals.
Can you please pass this message on to all community groups in your parish and encourage them to respond to the survey which can... Read More »

Since our last update, the report we told you about has been received from the contractor WRS including a risk assessment by UXO specialist MACC (with reference to the explosive items that have been found on the site). This Report states that with the current measures, that is the fencing, signage and security guard, the site is safe. This, of course, assumes that the public are not ignoring these... Read More »

Bridge Street was re-opened on Fri 5th August.
Discussion is ongoing with Daventry District Council and the MoD in respect of what happens next. Since our last update the Council, working under guidance of the Contractor, have agreed to re open the road. As no work can currently be undertaken, the site has been rearranged which has enabled the road to be made safely accessible again.
The Mound is still... Read More »

Daventry District Council will be carrying out a focussed district-wide 6 week dog poop spraying campaign in September 2016, to raise the profile of the campaign with residents, and to enable us to gather data to allow us to analyse its effectiveness.
I have sent information to the nominated residents who have taken part in the spraying initiative previously, to see if they would like to take part in... Read More »
