I'm pleased to confirm that we have completed our essential maintenance scheme on the A5 between Kilsby and Weedon.
Works carried out on this scheme included clearing vegetation, cutting back shrubs, hedges and trees, felling of some trees within ditches, clearance of rubbish from lay-bys including hazardous materials such as sharp needles, jetting and CCTV inspection of existing surface water drainage... As you may be aware, Highways England will be carrying out essential maintenance works to the A5 between Tove roundabout (A43) and Weedon until the end of July 2020.
These works are programmed to commence on Monday 13th January 2020.

Northamptonshire County Council has replaced Street Doctor with FixMyStreet which will now allow customers to upload photos – making it clearer where highways defects are located. People will be able to easily map where the defect is and also view assets such as signs, trees and adopted highways so it is easy to identify exactly which one they are talking about when they make a report.

The results of the Best Village Competition 2018 are in and Weedon Bec picked up 2 awards.
Weedon Bec was declared the Best Medium Sized Village in the County and then went on to be crowned second Best Village overall.
