Official opening of the play equipment on Croft Way playing field.
Mr Tony Crease, Chairman of the Parish Council welcomed everyone who came along to the official opening of the new play equipment at Croft Way playing field and gave a brief insight of how this came about following the questionnaire to the village last year. The four items of play equipment, new bench and picnic table and footpath from the Village Hall to the Whettles, were funded by the Parish Council with a grant from Daventry District Council, represented today by District Councillor and Chairman of the District Council Mr David Smith.
Mr Arthur Hart officially cut the ribbon and declared the park open.
Staff from Weedon Bec Pre-School and Piglets of Weedon, brought along lots of children to enjoy the facilities. Thankfully the day was sunny but cold!
Many thanks to all residents who took part in the questionnaire last year and who have supported us with this initiative. The Parish Council offers thanks to Daventry District Council, Kompan, Yates Landscapes, Mr David Smith, Mr Arthur Hart, Mr John Wilshire, Weedon Bec Trust, Weedon Bec Primary School, Pre-School and Piglets.
