The Mound - Important information regarding Pedestrian access
IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING PEDESTRIAN ACCESS: FOLLOWING A PRE-COMMENCEMENT MEETING, THE CONTRACTOR HAS ADVISED THAT IT WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE TO MAINTAIN A SAFE PEDESTRIAN ACCESS DUE TO HEALTH AND SAFETY RISKS. PEDESTRIANS WILL NEED TO USE ALTERNATE ROUTE VIA HARMANS WAY OR PUDDLEBANK. APOLOGIES.
Work is due to start on Monday 4th July 2016 to remove the Mound. It is anticipated that the works will be completed within 3-4 weeks.
A road closure will be in place to allow the contractors to set up a compound on Bridge Street. They need this space as they are dealing with contamination and require a clean and dirty area by law. The earth will then be moved away from site down Bridge Street and out of the village.
The contractor will be providing a leaflet for distribution to the nearby properties to help provide all relevant information about the works. We will also share this leaflet when received.
There will be a Site Manager who can be contacted should you have questions or concerns and the contact details will be displayed on the site gates.
First week will involve site set-up and contamination compound. Following weeks will be the earth removal and soil inspection for contaminants.
We appreciate this will cause some disruption and we ask all our Residents to please be patient whilst the work is in progress.
Once all the earth is moved, the site will be landscaped with a new pathway and hopefully the slide re-installed. The ground will need time to recover i.e. for the grass to grow back so it will be out of bounds for a while to allow recovery.
If you do have any questions, please contact Parish Clerk- Sue Halkett
