LIKE MINDED LADIES

If you are new to the village and looking for an informal setting to meet people, we are a group of ladies who get together for a cup of tea, cake (provided by rota of the members, homemade or bought) and a chat. We charge £2 for every meeting you attend. From time to time we go out for a meal, to the theatre, or help with various events in the village. At the moment some of us are knitting Commonwealth flowers for a display outside the church, to help commemorate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

We have changed the day we meet, which is now the 4th Tuesday in the month in the Chapter House at the Church. Timing: 2pm to 4pm,

Annual Parish Meeting

This meeting is for you, our residents, hosted by the Parish Council.

There are a few formalities we have to go through, village updates and then the floor is yours. It is an informal meeting where you can bring to our attention any concerns, any good or bad points or matters that you would like to see progressed by the Council.

If you would like to attend the meeting please do so, an agenda will be posted on the website www/weedonbec-village.co.uk nearer the time or let the Clerk know and she can email you a copy.

Annual Vestry Meeting and Annual Parochial Church Council meeting

These are the meetings at which Churchwardens and the Parochial Church Council (not the same as the Parish Council) and other roles in the church, are elected. Anyone in the parish is entitled to vote for churchwardens; those on the Church Electoral Roll are entitled to vote for other roles. An Annual Report is given about the fabric, the finances and activities of 2018. All are welcome.

WEEDON WOMEN

Weedon Women is a group of friendly ladies who meet on the third Thursday of each month at 7.30 pm in the Chapel Schoolroom, New Street, behind the United Reformed Church. New members are always made very welcome and if you are new to the village, or looking for a group to join, it would be great to see you. The talks are open to everyone – men and women. You can also come along as a guest.

Thursday 19th May - Daventry Guide Dogs. Liz Hudson has a wealth of experience in training Guide Dog puppies and we hope she will bring along her latest recruit.
