The Community Work Group has been established for quite sometime now. Anyone is very welcome to come along and help with some odd jobs around the village. It gives us a sense of achievement, pride in where we live, gives us an opportunity to get to know people and have some fun at the same time.

Next dates for getting hands dirty!! can be found on the Whats on calendar including the where to meet which is usually from 10.00am working through till around 3.00pm (or however long you can spare)

The work will be undertaken in conjunction with Community Payback Team, who have been coming along to Weedon for over a year now and have completed some really great work that is benefitting this village in a positive way.

Please wear sturdy footwear, bring gloves and a spade/rake

We have already done a lot of work to clear the ground at the Tethering Posts on Equestrian Way and some painting at the church.
Take a look at the Tethering Posts before, during and after photos

Food Waste Recycling in your kerbside bin - can you do better ?

Northamptonshire Waste Partnership has launched an incentive prize draw scheme in November 2015 to encourage residents to use their kerbside food waste recycling bins more regularly. Daventry District Council district is taking part.

Are you in to Win? Enter the prize draw by recycling your food waste

Residents in Daventry District Council area could win some fabulous prizes as well as helping the environment by recycling their food waste.

People who put our their food waste caddies for collection each week can register for the Northamptonshire Waste Partnership's I'm In to Win scheme – and the chance to win prizes ranging from free leisure centre passes, experiences and days out as well as vouchers for local shops and restaurants. All residents need to do is register their details online at www.feedyourcaddy.co.uk and then make sure they put out their food waste caddy for collection as normal each week.

I'm In to Win is fully funded by a Government grant and runs over the next three years, during which time everyone who registers to take part and regularly presents their food waste caddy for collection has a chance of winning a prize.

Every month there will be a winner from each of the four council areas who are taking part in the scheme: Corby Borough Council, Daventry District Council, East Northamptonshire Council and South Northamptonshire Council.

The lucky winner from each area will be notified by email, inviting them to choose a prize that suits them best. Winners' names will also be published in the NWP's monthly newsletter and online at www.feedyourcaddy.co.uk.

How to take part in I'm In to Win:
* Register online at www.feedyourcaddy.co.uk

* Once you have registered your details you will be sent a registration pack – including an "I'm In" sticker for your food waste caddy and a leaflet reminding you of all the food waste you can put in it.

Did you know: Reducing the amount of food waste sent to landfill is important because food waste tends to be heavy, and sending each tonne of waste to landfill costs the county around £100 in fees and taxes. In addition, food waste can be recycled to either create fuel through anaerobic digestion, or turned into a compost-like material for fertilisation.
